Truth is purple is my favourite colour. I love it. I hate pissing around with more than 3 colours on the eye i really do. With good blending techniques two colours (and a liner) are plenty. Blending can turn a bright purple (example) into any shade of violet when paired with a lighter colour (bisque). The MAC 217 brush is ideal and along with MAC 226 brush one my favourites. I prefer the MAC 217 brush for blending because the shape of it will fit most eyes. Using brush guards will prolong the life and shape of your brush and bristles. Sigma do a version of the MAC 217 brush but its not one of my favourite brushes. I find the shape doesn't run evenly - meaning one brush may look different from another and i find the quality scratchy.
